COPE was created by an occupational therapy student with the help of her faculty and site mentors. This resource is meant to be occupation-based, model-driven, evidence-based, client-centered, and culturally relevant. It was specifically designed to be used by occupational therapy practitioners and clients who are experiencing chronic pain at an outpatient clinic in rural Minnesota. Many individuals could benefit from using strategies to enhance their well-being and quality of life, though, so anyone can use this website. Additionally, there are many online sources where one can look for information. However, COPE has been developed for this specific use, with the help of practicing occupational therapists and professors, and has been trialed with clients to understand their needs and wants for a resource like this.
